    The tools for setting up and opening a Designer Pie Shop are in this book. Common sense dictates that you should know how, or learn how, to use the tools. If you've worked in foodservice at almost any level, you'll "get it". I wish I could hold the hand of every person who has purchased this book, and lead each of you to opening day, but what I claim is the foundation for opening a Designer Pie Shop with Just Two People, was actually done by one person. That person was me. It works.

    Very disappointed. I was expecting much more from a $30 dollar book. Only the first 40 some pages talk about opening a pie shop. Over 100 pages just cover pie recipes with very little if any directions. I do not recommend this book. The book is composed more like a bunch of rough notes put on pages. The content is poor. Sorry Elaine.

    The recipes in this book alone are worth the price. She does a very good job of explaining, in detail, the aspects of owning a business, plus her own recipes that she has experimented with and used in her own shop. The recipes are in bulk and produce 4 pies at time. A warning to those who wish to bake only one pie to experiment with the recipes. You'll need to break down the formulas before home baking. Great book and glad I purchased it!
