I didn't have to read very far to see that this author clearly has real insight into what happens to human relationships in stressful situations. Luckily for me, and all fiction lovers, D.M.Gold also knows how to weave a great story. The result is a book which drew me in, making me want to know more. Minus One also invites a deeper understanding of how families work (or don't). A truly universal subject matter, which threatens to be beyond all our understanding, but here illuminated in a way which should be accessible to everyone.

I read this book last week and I have to say that I couldn't put it down! Although it is a story about a missing girl it is much more to do with the effect on the family and their relationships with one another. The characters are realistic and interesting and extremely well portrayed and they play a key role in why the story is so riveting and enjoyable. I finished the book within a few days as I was desperate to know how it came to its conclusion and all I say is that I was not disappointed! Being the author's first novel I would be very excited to know whether they have another novel on the way and if so I will definitely be ordering it! I recommended this book to a few of my friends who also were impressed with the author's wonderful storytelling. A well written and intriguing novel!

I found Minus One a wonderfully enjoyable read on many levels. Its about a family torn apart by the disappearance of one of the twin daughters and how each of the family members finds there own way through. Really well written, believable and interesting characters. The story line kept a page turning pace. I enjoyed the open and direct writing style, which gave me a wonderful sense of connection with story. It was an interesting and insightful journey one was taken along. Touching, moving and healing. Would really recommend it Enjoy!
