It’s just a cruel hard fact of life. Real life never works out like it does in the story books. But why not? That’s the question nine year old Emily Westbrooke is asking. This energetic whiz kid is not about to stand aside and watch her parents tear her world apart! If her father could write incredible stories of love and happiness with such beautiful endings, then why could he not make his own life come out just as well? That’s just not the way life is, but why not? To change the course of ones own life is hard enough, but the course of another’s—near impossible. That is precisely what Emily must do when her life is about to take a disastrous turn. That is until—until she discovers the greatest power on earth! But there is just a little more to calling upon this miraculous power than she realizes! Real life just never works out like it does in the storybooks! But, why not? Once I started reading this book, there was no stopping until I reached the end. And I'm over 60 years of age. This book brought me back to my childhood when I would spend hours and hours at the local library reading so many books. My world revolved around books and stories that I could get lost in. This book has this same level of interest and intrigue. I believe that young people who are looking for refreshing and uplifting stories will thoroughly enjoy it. It's good to see that there are still authors that want to promote decent, moral and uplifting books to our young people. The writing style is very good. There is enough dialogue mixed with explanation so that one can easily follow the story without getting bogged down. It has a great beginning that makes one want to find out what is going to happen next and how it will end up. The greatest achievement is when a person wants to follow a story through rather than looking to the end first to find out what ultimately happens. I... More > highly recommend it.< Less

The first part that I was aloud to reead was wonderful. It held your attention and really allowed you to invision what was happening in the set of the story. Emily was turning out to be an interesting character that I definetly wanted to know more about. It was great and I can't wait to finish the book to find out about Emily and the rest of her life.
