By American architect Donn Wahlberg, this volume presents several thoughtful designs for "the villa", a fantasy which has attracted architects since architecture began. Freed from the tight contraints of the city, the only limitations imposed by the idea of the villa, are those of the architect's imagination. In this book the architect imaginatively references the historical imperatives of classical geometries and idealised habitats moderated by the very democratic notion of affordability; of bringing the ideal within reach of most of us.
