Bill Friel was a professional baseball player born in a small town nestled in the endless mountains of Pennsylvania called Renovo. Friel began his career in the minor leagues in 1895 and in 1901 he signed on and played with the Milwaukee Brewers.
Friel played three seasons of professional baseball as a outfielder, second and third baseman. He remained with the franchise in 1902-1903 after it moved to St. Louis and became the Browns. He played several more years in the minors before becoming a manager. Imagine being able to capture and share the most cherished memories of your town, the people, the buildings that have fallen into disrepair, the empty lots where thriving businesses used to stand and the relationships with the people you love the most for future generations to experience.
NOTE: This book was revise on 11/10/2015. The author continued to research the Friel family after the book was published. She found a census from 1880 that revealed more about the Friels and she revised the book.
