"Sleeping With the Anemones" is a series of altered books and combinatory objects whose purpose is research into the poetics of matter. Dorothy Nissen says of her art process: "I like to work with what is discarded as a conduit to the unknown. ... Matter itself is awkward for me, so working with matter becomes a kind of trial that ends up by inviting psyche."
