After two years living in Brussels we thought we knew this town inside and out, until we landed on a copy of this book by Mr. Morris. There obviously was a lot of research that went into this guide which is repleated with activities available and interesting places to visit. Some of my favorites usefully presented by month by month fashion were: cycling (especially on car-free Sunday), festivals, historic re-enactements, regattas, markets, tours, brasseries, cafes, creperies, ice cream parlors, museums (especially nocturnal visits), castles, the coast, the mountains, green parks, near and far Belgian and European top destinations, play centers, amusement parks, classes, and more) for young singles to families with kids, this guide is as comprehensive as it gets. Reading this guide one realizes how Brussels really is interesting in and of itself but also strategically placed for easily seeing much of Europe. The guide includes lists of books, publications, websites to do with living in... More > Brussels and which I found invaluable to have all in one place. For example, when I wanted to publicize one of my exhibitions all I had to do is ask Mr. Morris and I instantly had access to a huge number of expats through all the exhisting channels of communicvations mentioned in this guide. I also loved the easy and convenient format in which Mr. Morris made this guide available to his readers though Amazon and Lulu ready for use via smart phones and eReaders. This guide fulfills its claim to help us have fun while living in Brussels. Mr. Morris' happy, extrovert and generous nature surfaces throughout the guide sometimes with fun photos or comments but for me it does so especially in his Closing Remarks – Cultural Awareness parting words where he gives us a bit of his hard earned distilled experience and wisdom reached through years of living abroad. The Expat Guide to Having Fun in Brussels & Belgium is a must if you don't want to miss out on some of the most fun activities and events while you live here.< Less
