A LONE CRUSADER BUILT MANDING MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL

ByDr. Alhasan Sisawo Ceesay, MD

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
I in 1950 met a frail elderly man on way to the Dispensary at Kerewan village Centre. I asked; “Grandpa where are you heading in this sick state?” He tearfully said, “Sonny, had they built hospital in the provinces we would not die without help. I am sick but fear that there might not be drugs to treat me or a doctor to evaluate my ailment.” His propelled me into action later reinforced by the death of three family members I met heading to the same dispensary. This dismal state of farming communities must be exposed to prevent deaths from curable diseases. This work is way I struggled through impediments to becoming a physician serving villagers through Manding Medical centre. I am determined to bring the Golden Flees to Gambian villagers. We need to illuminate another's’ life but to remove despondence from needy hearts. We most let hope and light triumph over darkness and allow peace . You are invited to join good causes waiting your mark. I write to raise funds for building of Njawara village hospital.
