Dr. Shaw, you wrote another great book. I learned so much from it and realized how many things I did wrong so far in my life. How I could have treated people around me better, how I could be better even to my own family. But, I read the book and it can help me, inspire me and show me even how to forgive. I loved the letter to the father best. I didn't know my father, he never came back from war. I wondered what I missed not having one. The letter to the daughter was another favored one of mine. Dr. Shaw, the love you show, the great heart you have for all your family and friends, is again inspiring! You are amazing with your words. I also enjoyed a lot the "life lessons" from various letter writers. This book shouldn't be read only once, you should go back after some time and read it again. I know I will do. Dr. Shaw, thank you for your "thank you letters".

By Emily DePasquale Kudos to Dr. Rowena Shaw. This is an excellent book to help people strengthen their relationships through appreciation and compliments. The message to acknowledge the people around us who show their loving kindness time and again is clear. Positivity is foremost. The "Life Lessons" are a wealth of profound, practical wisdom for lifetime circumstances. The "Thank-You" letters are a tribute to the ordinary people in our lives who because of their selfless, caring gestures are actually extraordinary. Dr, Shaw encourages us to take the time to acknowledge and thank these people who have made a profound difference. I am honored to have been asked to contribute to this book. After reading it, I am anxious to acknowledge the wonderful people I have been blessed to surround me and have influenced and enriched my life. I want to make sure they know how much I appreciate their kindnesses. Included in this book is my "Good-Bye" letter to my late,... More > best-friend, Carol. I am going to share this book with Carol's family as a legacy to her kindness and true friendship. Often we are quick to point out the "bad" people have done. From this book I have learned to appreciate and compliment the "good." Emily DePasquale, Zephyr Cove, Nevada< Less

I finished reading this book in only one sitting, and after reading it, it made me think of my own dealings with my parents, if I were one of millions of people who had lost an opportunity to show my full appreciation for my parents, while they are yet alive. There are many beautiful letters which Dr. Shaw has written to those who are close to her heart, but the letters which touched me most are her letters to her Dad and Mom. She certainly writes from the heart, endearing words reflecting her love, respect, and very deep appreciation for what her parents had done for her. I recommend this book for people of all ages, for parents, grandparents, sons, daughters, educators and students. Also, for those who no doubt felt a deep appreciation for their parents, but failed to express it; this book exhorted that constant and sincere expressions of appreciation to parents are not only a sign of good manners and maturity, but also an evidence of love.
