The understanding of new insights about a toxic relationship is only enlightening. Unless you plan to maintain success and the new ideas there will be NO change. Action and knowledge are NOT the same thing. You must Implement Normal Reality in place of the toxic lie. God sets the exclusive measurement of normal reality and success. We all fall under God's natural laws, which include the five rules of the harvest, the five basic human needs, and the five basic conflicts. You cannot replant yesterday's harvest. It is over. You can only plant today what you will grow and harvest tomorrow.

Feb 19, 2018This book takes a hard look at toxic relationships and gives solid counsel for handling them. The author is an experienced counselor, and approaches predators and their victims through physical, emotional, and spiritual lenses. He addresses the difference between mental illness and bad behavior, why victims return to their offenders, how predatory females stay under radar, porn addiction in religious communities, the grooming of victims by their predators, and many other insights. He also explains the title of the book, but you will have to read the book yourself to get that information. No spoilers here!
Feb 7, 2018While working within this book before using it in my mentorship group I learned a lot about personalities traits and issues that maybe the cause of generational dysfunction. Drama mama's and fathers and the ability to see it in writing is a major plus in The Unanticipated Chicken. I am a mentor with young trouble women and this study guide has helped these young women as a group and within our group discussion. I recommend this workbook to the highest.
Dec 8, 2017I work with Children in care and I was able to recognize a toxic relationship going on between the children. The behavior depicted in the book was exactly what I identified there. The remedy provided, though it took some time, was invaluable in my being able to help the victim recognize the toxic relationship and start on a path to freedom. This book is especially helpful to anyone who wants to know if they are in a toxic relationship or not. The description of that type of relationship and the remedy are clearly defined and explained in this well written book.
Nov 28, 2017This book by Dr. Barnette is excellently written. It is easy to read and clear to understand the points made. The book mixes Christian theology and personal experience to weave an incredible self-help tool. Dr. Barnette uses the story of the Exodus to show how we all can become trapped in a toxic desert. This book is a must-read for anyone who is or ever has been in a relationship whether it marital, parent-child, sibling or friend.
