"Review from Art With Words poetry quarterly." HerStory is the first anthology of elizaPress Publi-cations. This book contains thirty diverse and talented writers from across the country. You will find the poetry; prose and short stories will read as familiar to you. I know as I sat engrossed in this exciting collection of words, there were times I thought, ‘I know this woman’. The diversity of this anthology is what draws the reader in and keeps her reading. I found a sister in Yala Korwin by way of her poem, “I Am Woman”. I identified with her voice and the ending stanza which calls for acceptance of ones individuality. Henry Alley’s story “Lucy in the Sky” inspired me to meet my challenges head-on, and Faye Adams’ story and poem about her grandmother, was a pleasure to read. Some of the works presented in this anthology were simple jewels to read and enjoy. While other pieces challenged the reader to stretch her horizons and embrace the character of the woman presented.... More > Each page of this wonderful first effort of elizaPress demands to be read. "What a moving journey..." This compilation of stories from many poets across the country is a beautiful compendium that expresses the breadth and depth of not just female feelings but the human condition and how we all laugh, love, suffer, and struggle. The voices in this anthology while each unique converge to form a cohesive narrative that like an aged Riesling has depth and qualities that are both bold and subtle, fresh and timeless. But unlike the Riesling they will never go bad no matter how much time weathers them. This is an outstanding achievement for a first anthology.
