"An Intimate Self-Portrait" First-time author Edith P. Corrigan has created a charming and idiosyncratic reminiscence in this collection of memories from her varied and adventuresome life, and several short stories. The author invites us to share a personal view of life and living: from the "papa-san" on Okinawa who predicted that the typhoon would not hit (despite official Navy predictions otherwise), to "The Thing", to her meditations about her mother, through her travels both real and imagined, she takes on a tour of a life lived well. Words of wisdom and gentle advice come to us through "So You Want to be a Roommate," and we experience a moving, poignant reunification of mother and daughter in the fictional story, "My Name is Star." A book of captivating range and individuality, "Edith: Stories From the Life," is sure to please readers of all ages.
