Is Daniel’s “time of the end” closing in upon us as quickly as many prophecy pundits seem to think (Daniel 8:17; 11:35, 40; 12:4, 9)? Are the last days and end of the age as prophesied in the Bible, and in particular, the New Testament, truly nearing its final countdown? Within the last 1,900 years, EVERY prediction of this “time of the end” event has failed most miserably. Find out the definite reasons why as we probe more closely into the narrative of the inspired individuals whom God used to record the actual timing of this eschatological destiny. It is the author’s main intent to create a desire within each reader to personally study the Bible themselves without giving the preeminence to fallible man. Man’s various religious views are represented in commentaries, books, hymns, early church fathers, Bible notes, creeds, movies, newspapers, television, and other forms of media. Unfortunately, many present-day Christians have given... More > these mediums too much of an emphasis.< Less

Outstanding! Creeds, Credentials, or Christ is a clear, unique presentation of the fulfilled view of prophecy. I have yet to read anything like it in the past few years at any website or book on the topic of fulfilled prophecy. In one long chapter he deals with the time statements in the NT. Not just the eschatological ones, but "all of them", leaving the reader to either accept the normal understanding of the words "near or soon", or words just can mean anything we want them to mean. Edward also demands that the reader be a Berean and not take his word for it, but to study up and read the verses he points to in their context to see if these things are true. Impossible for a futurist to not have this study affect their current paradigm. Let scripture interpret scripture, not the daily headlines.

Folks, this is not a "preachy" discourse in any way, but an invitation to a journey of discovery of truth, drawing the reader in with that truth. I like the constant encouragement for the reader to be a Berean, to study and verify. There is a tremendous amount packed into 344 pages in a concise and easy to understand manner. The progression is smooth, each chapter (and subheading within) building on the previous. Especially helpful are the explanations of apocalyptic language in the New Testament, showing the same or similar language from the Old Testament. By all means, check out the preview. For anyone disillusioned by the continuous parade of failed end time predictions, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!
