"Why do you rule as Azkil, Z'han?"
Z'han took a step back. She understood the question itself, she simply had no idea as to why it was asked.
Z'han nervously fidgeted with her father's ring, which, even resized to fit her slender fingers, still felt way too big for her.
"Because it is my responsibility, my right to do so."
She fought to keep herself steady as Oscal regarded her cooly. His blue eyes bored into her as he delivered yet another blow to her self-esteem.
"Is it, Z'han...is it really?"

"B2M Book Review" “The author Elaine Haygood has created an innovative tale that explores Padirian gods and their fight for power in the novel The Enslaved.” “The death of Z’Mad on the planet Padira begins the unraveling of the council. Z’han the daughter of Z’Mad the All – Father takes over her father’s position and becomes Z’han the All – Mother.” “Oscal the Elder informs the council members that they have been living a lie in perpetuating that they are gods and rulers over the Padirian planet. Z’han is uncertain on how to handle this newfound information and because of her doubt and reluctance causes a revolt of the council.” “Hidden agendas, murder and mystery surround everyone as Z’han is forced to realize for the first time what it truly means to be Azkil. She must make some difficult choices in order to save herself and others.” “Readers who enjoy stories of mythology and science fiction should find this novel interesting.” - - Books2Mention Magazine
