An Illustration of Endurance Beyond...What We Inherit

Every nine seconds in the United States a woman is assaulted or beaten. At least one in every three women has been beaten by someone she knows. These beatings are the leading cause of injury to women more than rapes, assaults by a stranger and motor vehicle accidents combined. Each day more than three women are murdered by an intimate partner. In addition, nearly ten million children witness these attacks annually. This autobiography reflects the author’s path through the difficult road of abuse and what it took for her to find her way out of a life filled with violence to one free of violence.
