Fossil woods from Yellowstone National Park, Big Bend National Park, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, Ginkgo Petrified Forest, and the Denver Basin all have stories to tell about ancient landscapes. This calendar features photomicrographs of the distinctive anatomy of these ancient trees, which range in age from 70 million years old to 15.5 million years old. Dates for Arbor Days around the world ensure you never miss an opportunity to celebrate trees and secondary xylem.

Another wonderful edition in support of an excellent educational resource. Paleobotany is more basic in our understanding of current species than most of us realize. We enjoy the pictures anyway.
Continuing the trend of gorgeous images and a good cause from InsideWood. Give as a gift to have your friends start some really interesting office conversations, along the lines of 'what in the world is that pattern?'Makes you want to go and find your own, or at least wonder what's inside that tree in my yard?
