Alzheimer’s Workbook Review This is a very useable workbook with practical, yet compassionate, approaches for working with the Alzheimer’s patient and includes suggestions for the mental health of the caregivers themselves. The main thrust of this Alzheimer’s Workbook is a well-organized section with a behaviors check-off log chapter for evaluating the Alzheimer’s patient, followed by a corresponding behaviors list chapter for how to work with the patient using your chosen target behavior. This how-to chapter gives excellent explanatory text to further understand each behavior. The caregiver is encouraged, with added note-taking space, to mark up both of these behavior chapters to help with record keeping and to observe progression. The shorter chapters at the back of the workbook give the caregiver a wealth of helpful information on important related topics such as: definition of Alzheimer’s disease, care management, coping with grief, building support systems, the whole person... More > approach, complimentary therapies, spiritual perspectives and end-of-life decisions. I’ve purchased several of these Alzheimer’s Workbooks by Elizabeth Cochran to give to friends and family who have a need for this helpful workbook.< Less
