My deepest gratitude to C.S. Lewis for the incredible gift of his inspired works. This story is an unauthorized, updated adaptation (parody) of one of his most beloved books: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. How would it sound to our hearts, if this familiar tale were "invaded" by 21st century Americans, the Iraq war, and a new millennium? Would we hear a new story? YES! ABSOLUTELY ALL PROCEEDS from sales of this project go to, to assist Iraqi children injured by U.S. actions. THANK YOU! Beth DeLap Asheville, North Carolina October 2008

"an eye-opening and compassionate read" Don't let the "for children" fool you! This book is for each of us (children and adults alike) who cares about the children in our lives, and is willing to open our hearts and minds to the children of the world. This is an insightful read as we view the human tragedy of the war in Iraq through the eyes of American children. Adults will love the satire, the political innuendo, and the beauty, tragedy and humor in this book. Everyone will fall in love with the characters, both American and Iraqi, the heros and heroines. The imagery, imagination and message will stay with you long after you put this one down (and you won't put it down 'til you finish reading!) The author has taken the beauty of CS Lewis' words, made the story her own, and given us a book that will make us laugh, cry, THINK, and hopefully, move us to act toward a world of Peace.

"the lioness, the rich and the humvee" i thoroughly enjoyed reading the book. it takes place in modern day war torn Iraq, but tells the story from a child's perspective filled with heros, demons and powerful mystical beings. since most of what we read about that part of the world in the media is told from a viewpoint promoting the American Empire's desire to control the oil wealth, it was refreshing to look at it from a more Buddhist compassion for all life, not just Americans. Even though it is a children's story, adults will enjoy the satire and sharp political, environmental and social insights the author has woven in. An enjoyable new twist to an old tale.
