This project grew from an idea originated by Sally Stafford [artist] and Ian Gorton [digital artist], soon joined by Fi Benson [writer] and Elizabeth Worlledge [writer]. The idea grew into a blog which invited people to contribute creatively, with their responses to the key festivals of the Celtic Year. Beginning at Samhain 2008, the project has grown to include creative submissions from around the world, in a wide range of formats; from paintings to stories, from film to sound. This publication captures some of the submissions to the blog, from Samhain to Litha, the summer solstice. An exhibition held in July 2009 at Coleford [UK], will show many of these and other pieces, including music, spoken work and participatory installations. This publication will be updated after Mabon, the Autumn Equinox, to become a record of one Celtic year of creativity.
