A worthy sequel to the first book. This one starts out fast, jumping right into the conflict as Ann and Nymrak's peaceful life is shattered by someone from their past. Throughout the first part of the story, Ann deals with the aftermath without the help of Nymrak, who had been her protector through close to the entirety of the first book. The sequel successfully showcases how much Ann has grown since The Biggest Mistake, allowing her to take charge to rescue her family from a man connected to Solin. However, she is not alone. Ann's Redemption reintroduces the organization, all of whom are given their chance to shine in the story. All the while, Ann is struggling with her own inner demons, afraid of what may happen if she ever, for a moment, loses control. The antagonist is truly chilling: a twisted but brilliant mind that always remains one step ahead of the protagonists. The writing has improved greatly since the first book, and the characters are all developed wonderfully. The story... More > is almost all action, broken up occasionally (and, to be honest, clumsily at times) by small, humorous conversations between the protagonists which show how close they are as a family. Overall, the book is an exciting read for anyone who enjoyed the first book.< Less

A wonderful sequel to the first book, picking up a few years after the events of TBM, where Ann and Nymrak have seemingly left his old life behind to become simple farmers with their young son. Much like the first book, Ann's Redemption wastes no time in getting into the action, starting off with Ann fighting for her life to escape from a raging house fire. The story takes off from there and never lets up, as Ann finds herself and her organization in complete reversal from her previous tale. Her newest foe proves a wily one, and for once Ann is the hunter and not the hunted. This sequel to TBM gives the reader a whole new perspective, giving them a taste of what Solin must have gone through, hunting an adversary who is always a step ahead. With a compelling story, an expanded cast, and an antagonist that will have you wanting to pull your hair out, this book definitely delivers, highly recommended, and not least of all for the surprising (and quite satisfying) twist ending.
