Emme is not sentimental though this book is full of sentiment. It's raw power. It's untarnished gold. Her journey through disgrace, and debasement has the effect of a Shakespearean tragedy that cleanses you through catharsis. I, the Greatest Girlfriend makes me feel like the greatest man.
