This is the follow-up work to the stunning entry "The Gay Troll in the Basement" and it doesn't miss a beat. The action builds slowly, but once it hits full stride, it's a frantic race against time - either a life ends or is saved - only if something is done and obstacles are overcome. This is a real nail biter folks. The ability of the author to make you feel connected to the characters (or revulsion at the gay troll, as the case may be) is really spectacular and rarely seen in small press books. I would be interested in collaborating with the author on a spin-off one shot story (perhaps even a graphic novel) told through the eyes of Kane, the unassuming victim - and perhaps unlikely hero.

I admit the transgendered woman on the cover drew me to this book, but once there, Nicky -- the gay troll with an "established IQ level in the 80’s" -- and his little furry friend Kane, pulled me in like the rectal muscles of a wannabe metalhead-poseur pulls in a poor gerbil. These past two books of her's are indeed hot, but they have yet to reach the steaming homoerotic levels achieved in the book "An Eye In Shadows". That's good news to me, because the small press needs Miss Pacione and her wonderfully written takes of retarded sodomy and has for some time! This book is so good it makes me want to throw out novels from other authors who aren't anywhere near as great as Shirley. After this review, I'm going to take my Richard Mattheson, Poe, Lovecraft, and Robert Bloch books off the shelf and throw them in the trash to make room for her books! I for one hope that this will continue to be a series and that we will able to look forward to more entries in the saga of... More > this demented turd burglar. Let us just hope that the troll's days of animal molestation are over from here on out.< Less

Another fantastic instalment from the great Shirley Pacione. I particularly enjoyed the characterisation of Kane the unfortunate gerbil, though as always the continuing insight into her submissive homosexual grandson Nickolaus explains so much more about his life and work. I'm glad to see that Shirely rethought her homicidal plans as frankly he's not worth it. Not to mention she could improve both his life and hers by selling him to a seedy S&M dungeon to clean the dog crap from patron's shoes with his tongue.
