Feb 22, 2008"Rendezvous With Hope" A most charming and inspirational story. Eugenie was forced to face horrendous challenges and responsibilities starting at eleven years of age. It is riveting; viewing and experiencing war and its atrocities, through the eyes of a child. She was soley resposible for the survival of her family. From this cauldron of pressure and agitation, her character of integrity and humanitarian ideals were born. Eugenie Peters from "America's greatest generation" truly deserves the highest of honors. Rendezvous With Hope should be required reading for America's youth. Eugenie Peters life is an example of ongoing perseverance and determination in the face of extreme adversity and racism. She is an example to our youth of a great mentor. Instead of our youth emulating bimbos like Brittney Spears, they should have the wisdom to raise the bar to the very top with the example of Eugenie Peters life- a lady of uncommon beauty, integrity, and class!

Dec 31, 1969"Rendezvous With Hope" A must read and a five star rating! Eugenie Peters' "Rendezvous With Hope" is a rendezvous with fine reading. This wonderfully engaging, perceptive autobiography is a chronicle of fullfillment achieved despite severe adversity-war and dislocation, racism, financial deprivation, the struggle for self-idenity, and most recently, difficult physical impairment. It is indeed an absorbing journey of the soul, yet one filled with hope, faith, love, courage, and compassion. Its message resonates with us all. We read about Ms. Peters' life in three distinct areas of the world- Indonesia, Europe, and America. On a broader level, we also share her journey as a world traveler and, with that, her understanding that whatever diversity of culture she encounters in her travels, all of us on this planet must rcognize what we have in common. And so, for Eugenie Peters, life experience becomes a joyous feast of the senses and the mind, one in which she revels... More > not only in its earthly wonders, but also in the overriding commonalities within human diversity. Yes, Ms. Peters' personal story is chock full of wonders- of triumphs over adversity, the glories of music, even of miracles. Her inspiring book reminds us that we all have the inner means to experience our own powerful rendezvous with hope. Dr. Eugene Sterling< Less
