The 2010 A-Level Drama performance of "Truly Scrumptious" aims to challenge both the actors and the audience. Two stimuli were merged together; the fable "The Grandfather" by Brothers Grimm and the song “Truly Scrumptious” from the 1968 film of "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" to create a truly unique an unnerving promenade performance. The play tells a story of an old toy maker, mending his dolls to mend a past too painful to confront as his memories undergo the inevitability of aging and deterioration. His dolls, whom come to life, take him on a journey to address a past that has been sugar-coated to shield him from the pain of recollection.
