Oct 15, 2009"Tropical Agriculture" With so little practical information on tropical agriculture, the good Doctor has compiled a useful amount of data on crop specific planting, growing and even the larger industry as it relates to his country. I personally enjoyed learning more about the staple crops used in your country and will adapt it here also in the Philippines. I have gained valuable information from the cereals and vegetables. It will benefit my students here at the training center also. Perhaps in future editions you could broaden the nomenclature for other cultures and nations. Many Asians would benefit from this work. Could you expand the scientific names to include some of the localized names for these crops in other nations, or the common English term? I'm sure it would be a big task, but it would broaden the appeal and be more useful to the layman, i.e. corn (in the Philippines is known as both maize, which is Spanish, and maise, which is localized adaptation.) ... More > Regardless, I respect your work in Agronomy and thank you for your contribution to a much needed area of instruction and of global importance to all farmers, small or large. Organic practices or natural methods of fertilizations would also be of great interest as fertilizer costs spiral upward with petroleum costs. Are there alternatives the farmers are succeeding at? It could even be an appendix. The price seems a little low, it was a great value as a download! I would have gladly paid 9.99 for the download, but keep it available to as many readers as possible. Self publishing has it's own challenges and rewards, an editor or colleague might be able to give your grammar a little more polish, but it was very readable. I look forward to any other work you will release in the future, please contact me directly. You’ve motivated me to finish my next book at LULU.com!
