Everyone wants to be someone. We dislike being pigeonholed, yet long to belong to something greater. Willie Bob is a white black man or a black white man, he is not sure which. So to solve his dilemma as to identity, he blows up white and brown eggs in his microwave in Willie Bob's White Boy, Warm Beer and Nacho Dinner Theeayter of Oak Cliff, Texas, which doubles as a home he shares with Dirty Alis, a three hundred and fourteen pound specimen of oversexed browness. They are happy.

Jun 12, 2010One of those books. A friend of mine berated the thing because he was quite heartily laughing on a plane and the person next to him asked what was so funny. And he could not tell him. It is a paean to terry Southern, the writer of Dr. Strangelove and other things. A wonderful mind and a keen eye. I think it is a fitting homage to the man's talent and sight. I laughed myself silly. But it is not frivolous. And once more, funny as hell.
