Price: $3.50
A collection of ten philosophical short stories and seven poems from a young Pakistani writer. Appreciated by some of the best writers in India and Pakistan, like Muneeza Shamsie and Qurratulain Hyder, this book is a promising companion for lovers of fiction who would like to see the world from a modern Pakistani point of view. "I read [the stories] with interest and really liked [them]. I also thought some of the language and imagery was really lovely eg. 'autumn leaves dancing around like light in a crystal maze' and really good characteriszation, eg. 'His tortured feet heaved his rackety legs along with a definite purpose', 'His face was a mass of spaghetti lines, each engraved with a memory of its own'. etc." --- Muneeza Shamsie.

"Pure wonderfulness!" Strings of the heeart are touched. Enjoyment altogether. I like Aimlessness and Train station, since they are close to reality. Not a bad way to spend 7 bucks.

"Bravo!" This book is a work of DaVinci's Mona Lisa, Beethoven's Fur Elise and Quaid-e-azam's 14 Points, this book is an eternal presence, one that will live on in the hearts of all who read it. I, being an experienced writer and a critic of the arts, recommend one and all to buy and read Midnight and Moonshine. A highly commendable effort.

"A nice endeavour" I like the style, and so do a number of my college friends. I'm studying literature, and the abstract style that Raza uses is amazing. It's like reading an oil painting. Recommended.

"A good effort" This mysterious book by the young man from Pakistan comes as a surprise. The author has a distinctly cynical outlook which is reflected in his work. It seems as though raza has hardened beyond his young years because of life's treachery. His style is silently vocal, thoughtlessly thought provoking. His use of words seem refreshingly colonial to me, even though 58 years spent as the English Professor at the University of Shembley have taught me a thing or two about the magic of words. A very good effort and a must-read.
