This brief paper attempts a comparison Shakespeare’s work “Hamlet” with “The Tempest” by the same author. William Shakespeare was undoubtedly one of the greatest play writes of his time and his classical work is still very much admired and widely read today. His earlier work was influenced by earlier writers such as Marlowe and Kyd. However, his style of writing changed considerably over his career and one of his last works “The Tempest” which was a romantic comedy was so different from the tragedies that he had been writing, that it was declared “un-Shakespearian”. Shakespeare’s style of writing in the two plays is discussed in this paper.
