Halliburton is an American legend that started in a modest single room office in 1919 and made it to the top. In its early days, this firm depended on the hard work and effort of its owners Mr. and Mrs. Erle P. Halliburton who used to cement oil wells in Burkburnett, Texas. However, within 89 years Halliburton has grown into a firm that operates in 70 countries of this world with revenues in excess of US$ 15 billion. Besides oil field services, Halliburton subsidiaries, including Kellogg Brown & Root were involved in megaprojects for clients including clients in the oil and gas industry and the military. Success depended on its ability to deliver on what it charged and this had impressed the United States Military and its other clients. This essay presents a discussion about the ethical and organizational problems that confront Halliburton Energy Services.
