Although the United States of America has been regarded as being the land of opportunity in which social origins and racial or religious affiliations are irrelevant for the progress of individuals, it has been noticed that educational inequalities do exist and certain racial groups perform more poorly as compared to the mainstream Americans. This thesis attempts to present an examination of issues related to race and educational inequalities in the United States of America.
