One can drive Route 66 a half dozen times and not do – see everything. Drive right by a historic place or thing and miss it. Route 66 today is the work of hundreds, maybe thousands of men and women who have spent much of their lives on “The Mother Road”, through good times and bad never thinking about leaving. There is a lot of literature about Route 66. It is constantly changing due to urban renewal, commercial development , and Mother Nature.
