At a time of educational reforms the ex-grammar school teachers try desperately to recreate the atmosphere of an elitist academic establishment favouring their former pupils while steadfastly ignoring the influx of ex-secondary modern school teachers and their pupils. “We’ll teach ‘em!” pokes fun at a time of great change for the teaching profession and decries the performance and target related culture of the modern school as seen through the eyes of a newly qualified biology and science teacher, Frances Klee.
