As his daughter, you might think that I'm biased in my opinion of this book. Of course, you would be correct. He's my Dad and so I would love anything he wrote. I also worked with Dad on editing the book, however. In that capacity, I have read Me? I'm From Iowa a few times. It is truly a joy to read. From his anecdotes of childhood in Iowa with vivid descriptions of watching drive-in movies in Barnum (the trains would go by and drown out the noise), to the inner workings of depression era farming to the day he met my mother and his entry into politics, the story flows from the heart. Political buffs will also find his tales of Prince George's County politics in the 1960s--with everything from desegregating the public schools to race riots to battles over slot machines--will also find something of interest within its covers. If you've always wondered what makes a great man tick, or even an ordinary man, you might want to pick up a copy.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this memoir, and learning many details of FBF's life. The back stories told about Prince George's county and the political life in the 1970s alone make the book a worthwhile addition to my library.
