This book is a very interesting take on antinatalism as it centres around childism rather than feminism or environmental sustainability. Francois Tremblay's approach to antinatalism is sympathetic to children, and discusses how even children who have "good" upbringings (ie. not abused by legal definition) still have their rights violated by the "necessary" act of socialisation and domestication in order to become a "successful" member of society. Despite being an antinatalist myself, I hadn't considered how closely childism and pronatalism are connected. In fact, I now realise that childism is necessary to pronatalism. The book is somewhat colloquial and is a fairly easy read- you could probably complete it in one sitting. I would recommend this book to antinatalists, and also to pro-natalists who are interested in challenging the beliefs they have been raised to perceive as "the norm". I look forward to reading Francois Tremblay's future works.
