Frank Cost, Associate Dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology and co-director of the RIT Printing Industry Center, has often wished for a small, fun-to-read book to give to people who were thinking about the world of print for the first time. Most of the available introductory books concentrate heavily on the technology, but say little about how people actually use print, let alone why. "The New Medium of Print" is a new kind of book: it provides an introduction to the underlying systems for the creation and distribution of print, as well as an exploration of its many and varied contemporary uses. Frank Cost, Associate Dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology, came up with an interesting new book to read. This book is easy to follow and keeps your train of thought in the right place for the advancement of the information at all times. Cost did an excellent job in making it feel like a conversation between the author and the reader. I was almost caught off guard with the content of this piece of literature. Even with Cost’s immaculately educated background this book was easy to read. The book is a must read for anyone in the photography or publishing industry. The book goes more through the entire printing process and how it has changed over the new internet based area.
