This book follows the general approach taken by the KX3’s big sibling’s book: The Elecraft K3: Design, Configuration, and Operation.
There are many schematics and diagrams for those who learn best by reading. Hands-on learners will enjoy working through exercises designed to illustrate the KX3’s many features.
Chapter 1 describes the KX3 receiver to see if the roofing filter is needed. Chapter 2 helps you configure your KX3. Separate chapters are dedicated to operating CW, SSB, DATA, AM, and FM. Chapter 8 contains a variety of hints on how to use filtering and noise reduction techniques. It includes an in-depth explanation of AGC and an "Oops, why is it doing that?" section.
This book DOES NOT cover the KXPA100 amplifier, the KXAT100 tuner, or the KX3-2M two-meter transverter. Another volume is planned for these.
