Japan 1620's.
A piece of a lifeboat washes up on the shore of Kagoshima Bay. A young woman clinging to it, and to life. She is unaware of the danger on shore. She is rescued by the Daimyo, tall, handsome and with the authority of life and death in his hands. In the days of her gradual recovery she learns she cannot leave and must become Japanese to survive.
She finds herself fighting the Daimyo's brother-in-law, the government officials, the weather, and the most personal battle of all--her own heart.
Finally it's time to make the decision to go home, or to stay with her gentle Samurai. Which will she choose?
