The word "avoidance" inspired a range of stories in the minds of the Gainesville Fiction Writers. Bethany Harvey portrays a family in which each member is avoiding a different form of trouble, Ron Canepa addresses the difficulty of dealing with what is left after a relative's death, and Meghan Sinoff presents an entirely different interpretation in a story written without using the letter "i." These and three other creative twists on the theme suggest that the human perspective complicates even simple words.
