"Thorne's Quest II: The Wild Catalyst" Wow again! The second book in the Thorne's Quest sequence is even better than the first one! Thorne is one wild and wacky teen, with more power and talent than she (or anyone else) knows what to do with! Macaulay-Newcombe continues to surprise us, with plot twist after plot twist! (Perhaps she is related to Joss Whedon...). The humour in her dialogue varies from simple and obvious to subtle and sneaky. I keep finding new things to laugh at, every time I re-read these books. When is book III coming out?!!!
"An intricate weaving of mysticism and passion!" An invitation to the reader to be both confidant and keeper of the unknown... The Quest continues as Thorne perseveres in experiencing the social complexities of the Holy City in her new role as Heir to the Throne, and endeavours to comprehend the age-old question of her reason for being. The present-tense telling ensures the reader strides alongside through the coronation procession, assumes battle-ready stance as the assassins attack, and lives the rawness of Thorne's interior world from elation to rage, hatred to intimate passion, arrogance to humility, and ultimately, acceptance of what must be. Asking as many questions as it answers, you will want Book 3!
