Trona is a mining town in the California desert.It was founded as a company town in 1913 and the company/mine then had a great interest and participation with the town. But times have changed and the changes have brought automation and the population of the town has rapidly decreased. It means no new people coming in and no one to buy the existing vacant houses. The empty houses are being burned. Some by arson, some to collect the insurance.Trona is in the process of becoming a ghost town.
