Gary Hill’s latest book takes a look at music from the artist’s point of view and delves into why they chose music as their livelihood. Along with that, we also discover the “fan” inside these musicians and we see that although many have been in the business for decades, their passion for music is still as strong as it was when they were first starting out. Many of the people in this book are new to me but not having any background knowledge did not take away from enjoying each chapter. Instead, it made me go research their music and I wanted to see if I could make out any of the influences they stated in their answers. With over 80 musicians interviewed, and many different genres, there is something for everyone. Highly recommended.
