The Real Tea Party

ByGary Smallwood

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The Tea Party, per say, wasn’t about any particular party ticket, but about a group of patriotic men, who were looking for the freedoms that they sought in a new land; offered to them in a new Country by their Mother/Fatherland --- England and Queen Elizabeth, down to King George. Since it was the Crown's attempt to tax the colonists for tea --- along with a series of actions including the Stamp Act (1765), the Townsend Acts (1767) and the Boston Massacre (1770) --- our forefathers became agitated and sprang into action; revolting. The little skirmish that ensued, in the Boston Harbor, further strained relations between the colonies and the Motherland and laid the groundwork for the American Revolution. In doing so, the Tea Party became a reminder of why the original Thirteen British Colonies fought so hard; not for party affiliation, but for freedom, and to become known as the American Colonies, paving the way for a revolution.
