A great read for anyone interested in the real world of British football away from the stellar, sterile world of the over-hyped corporate machine known as The Premiership. Full of colourful characters (and language), a witty blend of Hot Shot Hamish and Carry On humour for the 21st century. Nice first touch and some highly inventive set-pieces. Looking forward to next season.

What can I say, a book which keeps you interested from start to finish, not only in the whit of the writer, being a football fan would help! Can't wait for the next Sweeney book.... one to watch for the future - I bought copies for the family and they all loved it...

A heartwarming tale of the bond football forges between father and son, as well as the romance any football fan can relate to, when ones team over achieves. Sweeneys tale invokes memories of Brit classics such as The Full Monty and Fever Pitch and it told with both humour and a bittersweet sense of expectation and journey. A must for all football fans this Christmas!
