Stan Shaw and the Art of the Pocket Knife
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Stan Shaw is the last of Sheffield’s traditional pocket-knife makers. He began in the trade nearly 80 years ago and has been making high-quality knives ever since. This book describes how he hand crafts knives, using the traditional cutler’s tools (files, grindstones, fiddle drills) and the best materials (hand-forged blades, pearl, and horn). His products, especially his multi-blade exhibition knives, are masterpieces of the cutler’s art. The book is illustrated throughout with colour photographs of the traditional processes and close-ups of many dazzling pocket knives.
