The Sacred Laws of the Aryas, vol. 1 of 2. The sacred laws of the Aryas as taught in the school of Apastamba and Gautama. This is a reprint of 1879 Oxford, The Clarendon Press on Sacred Books of the East. Translated by Georg Bühler, In 1858 he received his doctorate in eastern languages and archaeology. While in England, he also studied Vedic manuscripts at the India Office and the Bodleian Library at Oxford University. He also became a Professor of Oriental Languages at the Elphinstone College, Bombay. During his time in India, he collected a remarkable number of texts for the Indian government and the libraries of Berlin, Cambridge University, and Oxford University. This book also provides some introduction to the Âpastamba and Gautama. The Sacred Laws of the Âryas as taught in the schools of Âpastamba, Gautama, Vâsishtha and Budhayana from the translated work of Georg Bühler. Published by the The Clarendon Press 1879.
