"Re: The war, the Steagles, and the Cardpits " This book will be fun for any pro football fan but especially for those who lived through those days within a 100 mile radius of Pittsburgh, PA. Burlbaugh has given us not only a fascinating look back at the history of the Steelers and their convoluted mergers with other teams from other cities, but a marvelous perspective of what the country was going through at that same time during WW-II. Curiously, while reading it, the agony of long ago Steeler defeats hurt almost as much as they did back then. For younger Steeler fans, the book is a great way to better appreciate the Super Bowl successess of later years. A well researched fun book.

"The war, the Steagles, and the Cardpits " It's been a long while since I enjoyed a book as much as I did this one. Perhaps because I lived through this period and remember much of the history here portrayed. I also remember the "Steagles," (I am still a rabid Steelers fan). This narrative is well researched and well written by an author who certainly has researched his subject. I highly recomment it to anyone who is in the market for a darn good read.
