Humorous, sad, poignant, witty, modernist, classical: there is such huge variety of poems and voices here. A diverse bouquet of poets of all ages and from all countries, but all united for a common cause. A small but thick and chunky book for your money - plus, all of your money goes to a cancer charity. It doesn't get better than that!

Reasons to buy this book: a) it's humanity in words b) all proceeds go to Cancer Research Humanity's super power is at its brightest when they stand together united. So when George Sandifer-Smith and friends inspired a global community of poets to come together as one only awesomeness could have prevailed. Now, I may be a little biased as one of the contributing poets but it does give me great honour to be published amongst some amazing writers of our time. The Wait is a fantastic collaboration of poets evoking the soul of humanity in their words. From odes of love and friendship to verses of loss and melancholy; every poem shows the unique voice alive on this Earth today. A couple of my favourites include: The Girl on the Beach - Adrian Rodda Litchfield last looney poem - Janet Litchfield

Probably a bit biased as I have some personal connections with the project and some of the poets, but I love it. The best bit is how different every poem is from the one before it. Couldn't pick a favourite. And seeing as all the money goes to Cancer Research and the poems were all donated, I guess it would seem wrong to give any less than 5 stars...
