This is the story of a pioneer American family of English heritage who arrived on the Mayflower and migrated southward over the years to South Carolina before the American Revolution. After the war, they left the newly-formed United States, and moved down the French Broad, Tennessee, Ohio and Mississippi Rivers to the frontier at Natchez, and walked overland into Spanish territory across Lake Ponchatrain from New Orleans, and there they settled, and have remained there to this day.
