In Douglas H. Gresham’s Introduction to C.S. Lewis's book, he says, “A Grief Observed is not an ordinary book.”
In the same way, Emily and the Others is also not an ordinary book. It is one man’s struggle to make sense of the world around him; death and loss and so on.
In the end, the short pieces, they face grief. They proclaim, “I see you and I am not afraid - not anymore.”
