This book is a fitting tribute to a unique person who was ahead of her peers and time. The story should be told to inspire youngsters today to get out and do something worthwhile instead of sitting in front of computers proving nothing. In fact The Harriet Quimby Centenary Committee of which I am the Chairman, are promoting Harriet's career and flying achievement of being the first woman to fly solo across the English Channel as core to our educational objectives. I thank Giacinta for her additional assistance resulting from a well researched and comprehensive book. Martin Young
